About Baur Software

We built the trust infrastructure the agentic web was missing.

What we built and why

Baur Software is the team behind pap://, Papillon, and Chrysalis: a cryptographic trust architecture for AI agents. We built these products because every major platform model asks you to surrender your data to operate in it. We think that is the wrong trade.

pap:// is the Principal Agent Protocol: an open standard that lets a principal sign a cryptographic mandate specifying exactly what an agent may see, do, and delegate, and nothing more. Papillon enforces those mandates at the OS level inside a sandboxed desktop canvas. Chrysalis registers agents with verifiable decentralized identifiers so any party can confirm what they are before trusting them.

We work directly inside client environments (education, healthcare, law, defense, and enterprise) to deploy this architecture against real operational constraints, not theoretical ones.

What we believe

Ownership is not optional

Every platform that holds your data is a liability. Cryptographic ownership, not policy documents, is the only enforceable boundary.

Trust must be verifiable

An agent that claims permission is not the same as an agent that proves it. We build systems where the proof is cryptographic and the audit trail is immutable.

Architecture over promises

Security that depends on a vendor's goodwill fails the moment the vendor is compromised, acquired, or changes its terms. We design systems where the constraint is in the code.

Based in San Diego

We work with organizations across the US and globally. If your threat model includes agents, platforms, or data you cannot afford to lose, we are ready to start.
